Despedida for Summer at Pico de Loro

Today, the grand summer vacation has officially  come to an end.  The teachers and students are now  back to their respective classrooms  while the traffic jams are also at its best.  The beaches and pools are  now slowly taking  its break after working  24/7 for the past three months.  Recently, the rain started to pour and gave us cooler afternoons and evenings.  But still, once in a while, the sun still shows its summer fury before it finally hides away for the rainy days.

To catch up with this year's summer's tail end,  my sisters and I took a more or less  three- hour drive from Metro Manila to Nasugbu, Batangas, last weekend  to enjoy the last hooray of summer at Hamilo Coast ~  Pico de Loro  Beach and Country Club.

Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club is a private beach club   exclusively accessible only to its members and their guests.  Guests, if unaccompanied by the members, have to show an endorsement letter from the member/s or unit owners  to the guards at the main entrance to be allowed an entry to the resort's area.

On how to get there, we relied heavily on the GPS.  We passed by SLEX in going to Tagaytay City via Sta. Rosa.  From Tagaytay City, we took the road going to Nasugbu Town Proper, then took the road uphill and passed by Canyon Cove, Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Kawayan Cove, Tali Beach Club and Barangay Wawa.

We stayed at Pico de Loro for 24 hours only but for sure, we had one of our greatest days this summer .

Let me  share some of our pictures with you.  I hope you'll enjoy this travel blog.

This is the main entrance of Pico de Loro
Upon arrival, we located for this building named Miranda B, our haven for a day at Pico de Loro.  Miranda B is found near the 3rd roundabout from the main entrance  which is   more or less 2 kilometers away.

body bag by Kenneth Cole, footwear by Adidas, sunglass by Giordano, and leather wrist watch by French Connection

Still at the lobby of Miranda B with my sisters (L-R) Banjie, Eunice, Bhet , Citas and me.  Thanks to our sister
Elaine for our T-shirts.

This is the waiting area for the shuttle bus/jeep.  My  "green" sister on the left is Bhet Hugo.

Before we finally had the keys to our unit in Miranda B, we had to register at the Pico de Loro Country Club

At the lobby of the country club while waiting to be registered and for our ID bracelets

This is our lovely nest  on the 7th  floor of Miranda B  for 24 hours .  It's a one bedroom unit complete with all the amenities
My sisters (L-R)  Banjie Tomagos, Eunice Baladjay, Citas Jansilan and Bhet Hugo.

The Bedroom .A very functional wooden shelf divides the bedroom and the living room

and this is the sala . . .

Our dining area.  The wall mirror made the room appear bigger as it reflects the sala on the other end .

The terrace overlooking the green mountain and the beautiful landscape below...

From this terrace, I have witnessed  the beautiful sun slowly creeping behind the mountain, signaling the start of a beautiful day.  My sunrise experience was indeed very captivating  with a tall cup of hot chocolate . . .

Pico de Loro has a good beach called the PICO BEACH with fine light brown sand

At the beach,, you can rent a cabana . . .

or  simply stay under the shade of these  big umbrellas by the beach shore... FOR FREE!

Sun deck chairs dotted the beach area  which the little children find very comfortable  and very relaxing for the adults...

Beach activities vary .  This group of young people are bound to go kayaking

or you can simply sit by the beach shore and enjoy a sand spa...  The beach sand , though light brown in color is very fine and not ouchy to the feet.

Others enjoyed wind surfing

While  others took the exciting banana boat ride

Some people simply enjoyed  their time with their own games like the tug-o-war and volleyball

If you love swimming but hate the fine sands at the beach, you can opt to go swimming at this beautifully structured 3-tiered pools

In between swimming, you can relax in these pool beds under the shed

Or you can choose to lie down by the pool beds under the sun

This fountain pool provides a good head and shoulder massage

A breath-taking view of the pool and the lagoon surrounded by mid-rise condominiums from the lobby of the country club

After taking a refreshing  dip from the pool, we  walked around the vast spaces of greens  of  Pico de Loro with an estimated land area of  6000 hectares which was developed by SM Land.

An awesome view of the lagoon and its surroundings from the rear side of PICO Sands Hotel

Big trees provided the much - needed shade

as we walked around the resort

Trees of all sorts created a cooler scenery

A fantastic view of the lagoon underneath this trellis

Walking under the scorching heat of the sun for almost an hour, the sisters took refuge underneath this trellis

Thank God for this lovely and multi-purpose piece of cloth from Armando Caruso.  Thank you very much, Sis. Luz Olemos!

Thank you also to my other travel buddies for protecting my eyes and my digital cams and meds.

As we walked further, we found this very interesting hanging bridge.

We tried to cross it to and from and had fun as it swayed to the left and to the right as the wind blew

From that very tiring walk, we proceeded to the hotel of Pico de Loro, THE PICO SANDS HHOTEL

The hotel has a restaurant that caters to the gustatory needs of its members and guests 24/7

Or you can simply order for some cold drinks at the PICO BAR

This simple floral arrangement at the bar didn't escape my camera...

Shuttle jeeps

and buses made our tour from one venue to the other very convenient.  Needless to say, the drivers were so friendly and very accommodating.

Before we finally headed home, we passed by the simple but stunning St. Therese Church at Pico de Loro

Entrance to St. Therese Chapel

The awesome view of the Hamilo Coast from the rear side of St. Therese Chapel

To blend with the all-glass St. Therese Chapel,  the "fence" was made of glasses too.

These Grandmas had their picture taken in front of the St. Therese Chapel.  Unfortunately, the chapel's name could hardly be seen.  (L-R)  Eunice, Bhet, Citas and Banjie

On our 25th hour, we would like to thank TUTU for a job well done.

And of course, to PRINCESS FISH  thank you for everything!  To  Bhet, Citas and Banjie, I truly enjoyed your company and I loved all the foods you prepared.  So sorry to have missed my sisters  Bengga and Ela who failed to join us.  It would have been a lot more fun and enjoyable  if they  were around.  There will be always next time, anyway!

GOODBYE SUMMER!  Till we meet again next year!

By the way, this is not a sponsored blog.  We have paid for everything at Pico de Loro.  Special thanks goes to Elaine Kaplan for the "green envelope".  Sa uulitin...
